The problem with “expats” or “digital nomads” (in reality just illegal US or European citizens who never assimilate) go to different countries south of the border and want to live like kings. It’s possible, yes, only issue here is that you want the same brands of whatever you bought in your country therefore you pay twice the cost. Something's gotta be wrong with the produce prices Jordan's showing. I've heard for many many years that the prices of everyday things in Mexico is 50% to 70% of what they are in the U.S., so what Jordan's saying doesn't make sense. In the U.S., today, I only pay about .58 cents per pound for bananas, and about $179 for golden apples.

A little late to this video, but as far as Vanguard Dividend funds are concerned, VYM (and NOT VYMI) has a far better return, and VIG even more so over a 5 and 10 year term. If you're looking to invest with Vanguard in dividend funds, I'd go with VIG and VYM, and not VYMI

I worked construction in SD CA and lived in TJ. About 300 dollars a month for a fantastic, nice motel with maid service who actually washed and folded my clothes too! and free happy hour food and coffee in the mornings. Renting just a room in SD was around $1,200. to $1,500. dollars a month. Border crossing time got too long around 2004 so retired and moved to La Huasteca San Luis Potosi and love it here. My wife's TIA gave me 2000 foot of river front land which took me 15 years to clear and landscape. I turned the land into private land in my name. Tax on land is around 30 dollars a year. I have been all over Mexico and never a problem and I have partied in some real bad neighborhoods and every Mexican treated me with respect and took care of me. I am going to take a onetime upfront payment for each of 4 lots on top of my land and give a personal written permission to use the lot for life. I am not renting, leasing, or selling. Each lot will have access to total land which looks like a golf course and river. A person can build their home anyway they want it for very little money here. I maintain the land which is a huge job. Doing it this way will save a whole lot of BS. and money for the buyer and no one will try and scam the buyer EVER! with me the owner of the total land. The lots start at $300,000. dollars. I have a USA bank only and don't take pesos. Whenever I need money, I go to the ATM a block away. This area is the best place I have ever been to in Mexico. I have lived here now around 20 years. Wife's family started this town many years ago. The best people I have ever met in my life live around this small pueblo and surrounding MTNs. Wonderful! This is probably the best explanation of private insurance in Mexico I have seen on UA-cam by now. Thanks a lot. But what are advantages of having a private insurance except for easier/faster access to healthcare. Isn't that the public healthcare available to every residents of Mexico? Also, Is it the same cost for everybody in the world? I might be mistaken, but if I compare that with my private travel insurance, it is not going to be the same cost for different citizenship in the world since the public healthcare of my country will pay a part of the emergency medical cost abroad. The private travel insurance will cover for difference? (if I am not mistaken). Thanks again for this explanation.

Yeah sorry I’m gonna agree with everyone that KA is absolutely not anywhere NEAR a bad show, remove it. A performer died on the revolving stage, they had projection performers for a bit but after they made changes to protect the actors it became the original KA again and it is, in my opinion the BEST Cirque show on the strip!! “O” actually made me kinda sleepy and the clowns were not funny, not good.

If the U.S. was going to say “hey if you’re immigrant and you come here you need to assimilate to the American culture” that would be considered racist and a hate crime but if it is in Mexico towards Americans it’s complete normal!? Hypocrisy is my biggest pet peeve. If or when I move to Merida Yucatán Mexico I’m adapting to the culture and learning the language.

I totally agree with the Eddy Griffin show being the worst comedy show I ever seen. This video was made a few years ago but my wife and I seen him in June 2024 and his whole act was unrehearsed and 100% racist towards any race other then black. As a black man I was actually disappointed in his lack of vocabulary as well as his lack of preparation for this show. The constant use of the N word and deeply racist jokes showed me his lack of compassion for anyone but himself. The majority of the show was him consistently drinking while attempting to make angry man jokes that had no humor in them whatsoever. Bottom line is I was able to get the tickets for free because I knew I was not going to pay $150 for his act. I am so happy I just had to sit through a an hour presentation to get the tickets because if I had to pay any money for that show it would have been a complete waste.

Drinks are free in the casino for gamblers but all those drinks are made with cheap licores, only the heavy gamblers will get premium licors.

Spain and Portugal are half that requirement(financial) and both countries have a better infrastructure than Mexico. Better healthcare, less violence, less pollution and you can easily get to the rest of Europe. Galicia, an area in the North of Spain is 20% less expensive than San Miguel de Allend to live. Mexico demanding that sort of money is insane. Ireland has the same (roughly) financial requirement and a waaaaaaay better standard of living. Ireland is also more expensive to live in so their financial requirements for living costs are in step with the reality of living there.
